The National Democratic Congress Party (NDC) has since the declaration of the 2020 Elections results by the Electoral Commission (EC) which they believed have been rigged and flawed in favour of the ruling party has taken to the streets to demonstrate against the injustice on the part of the Jean Mensah led Electoral Commission.

Ghanaians went to the polls to elect a new President and Members of Parliament who will be handling the affairs of the country for the next four years.

After a lot of tussle among the two biggest party in the country, the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress party (NDC), the Electoral Commission (EC) through their chairperson, Miss Jean Mensah came out to declare the incumbent President Nana Addo as the President Elect from the 2020 elections.

The NPP government retained power with a vote percentage of 51.5% lower than the percentage they used in winning the 2016 elections.

Just 48 hours after the elections, the Electoral Commission (EC) led by their Chairperson Jean Mensah declared the NPP, and it’s Presidential Candidate Nana Addo as the President Elect. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) categorically refused to accept the results with the reason being that the results have been flawed.

The Electoral Commission later came out to accept that they did make a mistake in the total number of valid votes cast hence bringing out a new figure as the total for valid votes.

The National Democratic Congress party (NDC) led by their general secretary, Johnson Aseidu Nketiah popularly known as General mosquito and the National Director of communications for the party, Sammy Gyamfi in many of their organized press conferences called on the NDC fraternity especially the supporters to protest against the EC.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) fraternity across the country followed the orders of their leaders and hit the streets to protest.

Earlier yesterday, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) fraternity of the Ho Central Constituency in the Volta region marched to the regional headquarters of the EC to submit their petition.

The protesters who only wanted to submit their petition were denied access into the office of the EC by heavy deployed security officers.

The EC officials who were supposed to go on a working leave tomorrow, December 24, were no where around the working premises.

After pouring some libation, one of the angry NDC demonstrator vanished into the Electoral Commissions Office to paste their petition on the notice board of the EC.

He returned climbing over the gate, a move which shocked all security operatives present.
