Adamu Adama Nansia, 39, is still in shock and pain after his 12-year-old son burnt his 2,500 tubers of yam which is estimated to be over Ghc10,000.

The sad incidence took place at Welembelle in the Sissala East Municipality of the Upper West Region.

Adamu Adama Nansia disclosed that the fire was caused by his son while playing with a stick of matches at the farm close to the barn made of tarch whiles he was busy at home.

His son upon realizing the fire outbreak tried to quench it but it couldn’t work. He later screamed for help but it was too late.

The sad farmer however thanked God for the life of his son and blamed low market price for yam as a major contributor of his current fate.
