Three secondary schools in Ghana has allegedly rejected a brilliant 23 year old boy because he is an ex convict.

Abu Sufiano Yahya is a young boy of 23 years who once served in prison for snatching a woman’s handbag in Kumasi in 2016.

When caught, he was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment. While in prison, Abu wrote and passed his BECE with aggregate 16 with tuition from other inmates and wardens.

Fortunately for the young boy, he won an appeal and was set free from prison in December 2020.

Poor Yahya whose aim is to become a nurse, has been refused an admission by three Secondary Schools in Ghana, withholding their names for now, after the schools got a hint that he is an ex convict.

On behalf of Crime Check Foundation and Abu Yahya, we seek for the right of the young boy who has regretted and changed from his wrong deeds.
