As part of electoral reforms, the EC is planning to close polls in the 2024 general elections at 3 pm on election day instead of the usual 5 pm.
If the current reform is adopted, it means no eligible voter will be admitted to the polling station to cast their ballot after 3 pm but if a voter happens to be in the queue before 3 pm, voting will continue until everybody in the queue has voted.
Well, Arnold Appiah who’s the NDC PRO-North American forum has said that Jean Mensa’s decision to change the voting time is proof of her incompetence.
He noted that this would only breed more confusion in the electoral process.
And that even developed countries don’t have such a short period for their elections.
