Thousands of unemployed Ghanaians youth’s quest for jobs turned bloody.

There was a stampede at the Accra International Conference Centre on Friday, September 10, as unemployed youths in Ghana thronged the venue for the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).

Over 1000 job seekers are reported to have gathered at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) for the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Job Fair.

The Fair has assembled several companies and employers seeking new employees, and is also offering potential employees opportunities to gain employment. Standing in long queues at the AlCC, some youth numbering over 1000 were seen making frantic efforts, amid the crowd, to enter the main building, from where they could access the job opportunities. Video footage from the venue shows the police having a hard time controlling the crowd.

It also shows broken glasses spattered with droplets of blood on the floor. Some job seekers are also seen with injuries.
