Six persons have been arrested in connection with the assassination of undercover journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale, the Police has said, indicating they have been granted bail.

Details on when and where the six were arrested, their identity as well as when they were granted bail and by which court, have not been released by the police, as they have vowed to leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to book.

Director-General in-charge of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, ACP David Eklu who revealed this Thursday at a news briefing in Kumasi also declined to reveal the conditions of their bail.

“As I speak now, six suspects have been arrested, questioned and are currently on bail,” he stated.

Ahmed Hussein-Suale who was a key member of Anas’ private investigations team, Tiger Eye PI, was shot dead at Madina last Wednesday night. He was shot three times; twice in the chest and once in the neck.

He was said to have played a key role in the Number 12 investigative documentary by Anas Aremeyaw Anas which exposed deep seated corruption in Ghana’s football leading to the removal of Mr. Nyantakyi.

Former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi and Member of Parliament for Assin Central Ken Ohene Agyapong, as well as Anas Aremeyaw Anas have all been interviewed and statements taken from them as “persons of interest”.

Police have since the incident three weeks ago announced a 15,000-cedi bounty has been placed on the heads of the perpetrators when investigations began into the case that has attracted international attention and condemnation.

Giving update on matter, ACP Eklu said everything is being done by the police to arrest those behind the murder, indicating that a lot of information have been received which they are working on.

“We are working around the clock to get those criminals face the full rigours of the law,” he assured.
