The battle is on. Actor and musician David Oscar have come out to ‘school’ Elikem Kumordzie on his opinion that acting is a part-time job so actors must find a day job to support themselves.
David in a video told Kumordzie that he isn’t an actor. He was a tailor before becoming famous after he went to Big Brother Africa.
And because of his popularity, film producers started contacting him to perform some roles in movies.
So that shouldn’t make him think acting isn’t a full-time job.
David explained further that he personally went to University to study acting and even has a degree in it. So since acting is institutionalized, Kumordzie should be aware that people can choose to pursue it as a full-time job.
It’s just that our system here in Ghana doesn’t make acting as a profession lucrative hence the need to have a side job to manage oneself but that doesn’t mean it is a part-time job.
