Aerosmith Drummer Joey Kramer Takes Leave of Absence From Band

Founding Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer will not be with the band when they decide up their Las Vegas live performance residency this summer season. Because the Steven Tyler-led rockers revealed on Friday (March 25), Kramer is taking a “short-term depart of absence” from the group.

In a press release to USA Today, Aerosmith stated Kramer “regrettably made the choice to take a seat out the band’s live shows in 2022 so he can focus his full consideration on his household throughout these unsure instances.”

They added that “he and the band look ahead to his future performances with Aerosmith” and stated drum tech John Douglas would occupy the equipment throughout Kramer’s furlough, as Rolling Stone reported.
