Born August 31, 2000 is an American football prodigy who plays the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) as a cornerback. He is Ahmad Gardner.
Ahmad Gardner, dubbed “Sauce,” was a first-team all-state and All-Detroit pick as a senior at Martin Luther King High School, when he led his team to a state championship with two receiving touchdowns in the championship game.
In 2019, he was named to the first team of the American Athletic Conference after returning two of his three interceptions for touchdowns, breaking up eight passes, and making 31 tackles in 14 games (six starts).
Gardner had 28 tackles, three interceptions, and six pass breakups in nine games as a sophomore in 2020, earning second-team Associated Press All-American and American Athletic Conference honors (he missed the bowl game against Georgia due to a back injury). For 2021, he went from No. 12 to No. 1 and played like a pro.
The Jets selected Cincinnati cornerback Ahmad Gardner with the fourth overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft in Las Vegas.
