The founder and leader of the International Godsway Church has been granted bail after news went viral of his arrest yesterday.
According to reports, he was granted bail in the sum of Ghc100,000.
The self-acclaimed man of God is being charged with offences of Publication of false news and Forgery of documents contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offences Act, 1960 (ACT 29) respectively.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Superintendent of the Public Affairs Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department, Ms Juliana Obeng said the suspect was also under investigation for other offences levelled against him.
“Bishop Daniel Obinim was arrested on a warrant of arrest issued by the court. He has been charged with the offences of publication of false news and forgery of document contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offences Act, 1960 (ACT 29) respectively.”
It also stated that Angel Obinim’s arrest had nothing to do with the videos circulating on social media.
