The Police in Amasaman have prevented an attempted robbery on the Amasaman Melcom shop and arrested one suspect, Richard Essilfie aged 22, in connection with the attempt. Police are in pursuit of three accomplices who escaped arrest.

At about 2:43 am of 29th June, 2021 a police patrol team responded to a distress call that thieves have broken into the Amasaman Melcom shop, arresting one suspect who attempted to escape with his accomplices by jumping from the first floor of the shop to the ground but was overpowered by Police. The case is under investigation.
