Sarkodie tried his best to bring Azonto back. Due to the division in the Ghanaian music industry, it died after just 3 days.

CEO of SarkCess Music Michael Owusu Addo known professionally as Sarkodie tried to bring Azonto back a few weeks ago.

He started the whole agenda on Twitter with the hashtag #BringBackAzonto and in hours, the whole SarkNatives and some Azonto lovers made it happen.

Sarkodie did not stop there, he also released a nice Azonto banger dubbed ‘Fa Hookie Mi’ featuring Tulenkey that is still trending to date.

His agenda was purely given a big blow after Gasmilla and others started fighting him instead of promoting the agenda.

Gasmilla claimed to be the ‘originator’ of the Azonto vibes and that he was the only artist holding the genre down when the likes of Sarkodie and co left it.

He also claimed that Azonto isn’t dead so under no circumstances should Sarkodie say he is bringing it back.

Ever since, it seems Ghanaians have shifted their attention from the Azonto to something else. Sarkodie is trying his best to push the agenda, however, his efforts are getting wasted.

Kwaw Kese recently made a mockery of the Azonto genre via Twitter by quizzing how dead it has become after days of making a trend out of it.

When will the industry change?
