Osofo Kyiri Abosom says Charging consultation fees are necessary because he can’t go hungry.

I don’t joke with my consultation fees. I can’t afford to go hungry when I’m working. Doctors charge for consultation, so why can’t we pastors do the same when people come to us.

Those who criticize me and other pastors are just ignorant of the teachings of the Bible. How can I pay my TV programs and utility bills if I don’t charge for a consultation? You are seeking consultation for the knowledge God has given me, so you have to pay. It’s not for free, the charges differ from person to person, politicians are charged differently from businessmen and women and ordinary people.”

Those were the words of the flagbearer Ghana Union Movement (GUM) during an interview with Nana Romeo of Accra 100.5FM.

Dr. Christian Kwabena Adu popularly called Osofo Kyiriabosom is the Head Pastor of Life Assembly Worship Center who is also the flagbearer of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) Reverend. He had received quite a bashing for his continuous charging of consultation fees especially when he has the ambition to lead the country.

He became popular through a live television show where he is seen destroying altars built for idol worship. Although his reasons for taking consultation fees are somewhat valid, it is left to Ghanaians to decide. As to whether it will better or diminish his chances at the December polls remains hypothetical.
