The Chief Executive Officer of Charterhouse, organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Mrs Theresa Ayoade, has mentioned August as the set date for the award ceremony.

Speaking in an interview on Joy News, she said the decision to select the new date is premised on the government’s easing of the Coronavirus-induced restrictions.

She added that her outfit is putting the necessary measures in place to see to it that the award ceremony comes off as scheduled with strict adherence to the safety and health protocols.

“The challenges of putting together logistics and not being sure of expected revenue is a real issue. In normal times, we will have been able to sell up to 4,000 tickets in VGMA-related events, but it is not so now,” Mrs Ayoade told Emefa Apawu, host of the show.

Mrs Theresa Ayoade added that this year’s event may not be as glamorous and captivating as the previous ones especially with the presence of COVID-19.

“It may not be exactly as it used to be in the past but obviously, with what is happening now, it’s going to be a downscale version,” she said.
