German football player Cindy Konig was born in Bremerhaven on August 15, 1993.
On July 1, 2022, she signed a contract with the second-level team SC Sand.
At SC Sparta Bremerhaven, where her father and one of her brothers also played football, Konig started playing in boys’ teams in 1999.
At Geestemünder SC, she switched to playing in girls’ teams in 2006. Her father and one of her brothers were SC Sparta Bremerhaven players as well.
She transferred to Werder Bremen’s women’s football program the next year, which had just been started at the time. She was a part of the young squad that captured the North German title in 2009 and 2010.
She made her 2nd Bundesliga North debut in March 2010 in a scoreless draw with Holstein Kiel. Since the 2010–11 season, she has been an important part of Werder’s first team.
Her first game was a 0-0 tie that she played in. On the fourth matchday, or September 5, 2010, she scored her first two league goals in her second match for Werder, a 4-1 home victory over Tennis Borussia Berlin.
