The Turkish director Mahir Canova’s son is Canova. He is a TED Ankara College alum (1973). In the 1974 motion picture Arkadaş directed by Yilmaz Güney, he made his acting debut. He enrolled in the theater program at the Ankara State Conservatory in the same year. After four years of studies, he joined the crew of Turkish State Theatres. He is well renowned for his plays in addition to his playing career on both fronts of the camera and on stage. He was married to the actress Açelya Akkoyun from 1998 to 2004. Canova persisted in his employment with the State Theatres. At the age of 67, he passed away on August 20, 2022.
Tibet, who made his directing debut in 1977 with “Tosun Pasha,” has produced 56 movies. Over 20 of these movies starred the late actor Kemal Sunal, and the majority of them did well at the box office.
In 2006, he directed the movies “Amerikallar Karadeniz’de 2” (“Americans on the Black Sea 2”) and “Dnya’y Kurtaran Adamn Olu” (“Turks in Space”).
