Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, many Ghanaians have come to the realization that, the fight against COVID-19 is not one that the government can single-handedly face.
In line with this realization, many individuals and groups keep supporting government both with cash and in kind. Whilst others donate good amounts of money, others provide food and water for the needy, and medical supplies to help equip the health sector and also basic items to protect the ordinary Ghanaian.
Latest on the list is Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei, an astute Pastor, leadership coach, motivational speaker and entrepreneur who revealed in a Facebook post that he is offering a facility to be used to isolate patients.
“This afternoon I met the head of Tema West Municipal Health Directorate and offered them a 100 bed facility to be used as ISOLATION CENTRE with the period of fighting the COVID19 pandemic. #forGod&Country” the post reads.
This will help decentralize case management and also reduce pressure on already existing and strained facilities in Tema and Accra as a whole and also smoothen work for the health workers. We expect more of his kind to bring all hands on deck to help government put up a good fight against the deadly coronavirus.

Please has the media or joyonline took time to inspect this location or facility in question? this place is a residential area and I leave close to the facility and I know they have sewage problem and ventilation issue. The facility is a dormitory with student bed. It will be unfortunate and unsafe to use this facility as a isolation center considering the closeness of the bed’s and mode of transmission of this virus. I know he has a bigger facility close to his residence why won’t he rather give that place out. Am sorry, using this place as isolation center will be inconvenience to the residents. Please, places like hotels have a better facilities to be use us isolation centers.
