There was a huge debate on Twitter after a Ghanaian got blocked by Vice President Bawumia for asking the use of government’s drone during the current fight against the COVID-19.

Finally, the answer has been made public by President Nana Addo during his 7th update on the coronavirus pandemic captioned, “Measures taken against spread of coronavirus.”

According to the President, drones are being used to transport COVID-19 blood samples from one point to the other for testing.

“Government has also introduced the use of drones to expedite the transportation of samples to laboratory centres. On Friday 17th April for example, 51 samples were delivered from the Omenako Drone Distribution Centre to Noguchi,” he said.

“Furthermore, we are introducing rapid results testing to augment our surveillance and enhanced contact tracing efforts, so that we can quickly isolate and treat confirmed cases,”he added.

That same night, the president lifted the ban on lockdown.
