Cristiano Ronaldo’s response to his teammates that Messi is better than him

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been rivals for more than a decade.

During the last ten years, it has always been either the Argentine or the Portuguese who won the prestigious FIFA Ballon d’Or or France Football awards. The last person to win it other than these two was Kaka back in 2007.

The rivalry is so strong that back at Manchester United’s times, Cristiano could be easily triggered by the comparisons to the Argentine striker. England great Peter Crouch recently reveals what type of conversations used to be held in the Red Devils’ dressing room, confirming Ronaldo’s tendency to narcissism.

‘Rio Ferdinand would tell us stories about how Cristiano Ronaldo would stand in front of the mirror naked, running his hand through his hair, and say, ‘Wow. I’m so beautiful!’ The other United players would try to wind him up: ‘Whatever, Leo Messi is a better player than you’. Ronaldo would then shrug his shoulders and smile again. ‘Ah yes. But Messi does not look like this…’

In the summer of 2018, Cristiano sensationally left Real Madrid. Looks like he acknowledged Messi’s superiority in the Spanish league and decided to continue elsewhere, far from his eternal rival. As a result, CR7 joined Serie A giants Juventus in a £89million move, however, he is yet to score for his new team while Messi has already scored four times in the 2018/2019 La Liga season.
