Some Nigerian custom officers have currently found themselves in a very hot soup after one mistakenly shot dead their colleague while trying to forcefully extort a traveler.
The victim of the extortion was said to be traveling down to the eastern region of Nigeria, when accosted by the Custom officers. He was asked to pay N300,000 which he refused, as he complained that it was way too much a fee for him.
According to an eyewitnesses, the argument got heated up, and the Custom officer accidentally killed his colleague while trying to shoot the civilian traveler.
They immediately took to their heels entering into a nearby bush and leaving the dead custom officer in their car meant for operation.
Plans are currently underway to arrest him and investigate the whole situation.
