The rapid spread of corona virus is one of the major problems the world is facing right now.

But for cyber-scammers, it is an opportunity for them to steal money from victims.

This exercise of the scammers are intended to spam your mail box with fake news concerning the corona virus in order to deposit malware on your machine.

The scammers has unleashed a booby-trapped corona virus map which they claim will show you the countries that are currently affected with the virus and the likely countries to be affected.

This booby-trapped maps is believed to contain hidden malicious software which will be installed on your Phone or computer. This This malicious software is designed to steal your banking details and passwords.

The email is crafted to look professional in order to persuade people to open the email message for them to carry out their criminal arts.

This tactic is so widespread that experts at the US Department of Homeland Security have issued an urgent warning.

It wrote: ‘The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) warns individuals to remain vigilant for scams related to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

‘Cyber actors may send emails with malicious attachments or links to fraudulent websites to trick victims into revealing sensitive information or donating to fraudulent charities or causes.

‘Exercise caution in handling any email with a COVID-19-related subject line, attachment, or hyperlink, and be wary of social media pleas, texts, or calls related to COVID-19.’
