He represented the Weber State Wildcats in college basketball in 2012, and he was selected to the third team of All-Americans. In the 2012 NBA Draft, Portland was chosen with the sixth overall pick.
Lillard received the Big Sky Conference’s Rookie of the Year award and first-team All-Big Sky honours during his debut season at Weber State, averaging 11.5 points per game. He increased his scoring average to 19.9 points per game in his sophomore season and guided the Wildcats to the conference title.
Lillard won NBA Rookie of the Year with a unanimous vote. “Dame Time” is the first player in Trail Blazers franchise history to be nominated to seven NBA All-Star and seven All-NBA Teams due to his penchant for making critical shots.
When Lillard was selected on the NBA’s 75th-anniversary squad in October 2021, he was acknowledged as one of the game’s all-time best players. Additionally, he carried the American team’s gold medal from the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo home.
