He produced two studio albums under the moniker Darius, Dive In (2002) and Live Twice (2004), both of which peaked in the top 40 of the UK Albums Chart. In the UK Singles Chart, his first song, “Colourblind,” peaked at No. 1 in 2002. In 2002 and 2003, respectively, his following singles “Rushes” and “Incredible (What I Meant to Say)” peaked in the UK’s top ten.
In a 2003 episode of the Hollyoaks soap opera on Channel 4, Campbell made an appearance playing himself and sang “Girl in the Moon” at a graduation ball. He made a guest appearance in 2009 as Italian magazine editor Gennaro Fazio on the BBC series Hotel Babylon.
In a covert ceremony, Campbell wed Canadian actress Natasha Henstridge in February 2011. They formally separated in July 2013. In February 2018, the divorce was finally finalized.
