David Adedeji, best known by his stage name Davido, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer who was born on November 21, 1992. His music combines global pop with indigenous African elements.

Atlanta, Georgia, is the city where David Adedeji Adeleke was born. His mother Vero Adeleke worked as a university instructor, while his father Adedeji Adeleke is an entrepreneur.

Davido is the second son to be born and the youngest of his father’s five children. At the age of 16, he returned to the country to pursue his business administration degree at Oakwood University in Alabama. The British International School in Lagos, Nigeria, was where he had previously studied.

The second song from Davido’s debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo, “Dami Duro,” was released in 2012; it went on to win the Next Rated Award at The Headies (2012).

Between 2013 and 2015, he produced a number of hit singles, and in January 2016, he signed a record deal with Sony Music. Later, he founded Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), a record label that has signed musicians like Mayorkun, Liya, Peruzzi, and Dremo.
