Nipsey Hussle was a well known American rapper from the ‘West Coast Hip Hop’ scene. He was born in Crenshaw neighborhood of South Los Angeles. He was raised amidst an atmosphere of gun violence, drug hustling and police brutality. At the age of 14, he left home to join the local ‘Rollin 60’s Neighborhood Crips’ (a street gang based in Los Angeles). This was mainly because he felt it was important to carry on the “legacy” of his community. He later made a U-turn when at the age of 19, his emigrant father took him to his homeland Eritrea, which was torn by war and poverty. He then returned home to concentrate on his music career. He released one mixtape after another, sending positive messages through them. Concurrently, he started undertaking community work, where he opened several businesses to keep the youngsters away from violence. He also founded a record label and a flagship store as a symbol of economic self-sufficiency. Nipsey died at the age of 33, after being fatally shot in front of his store, possibly due to personal enmity.

According to documents filed by his estate, Nipsey Hussle had significant assets at the time of his death. The late Nipsey’s belongings, including the inventory of his trademark portfolio, shares of companies he owned, and personal items, are estimated to be valued at $4.1M, per TMZ.
