Baker was born to missionary parents on April 22, 1990, in Houston. For the first four years of his existence, Baker and his family resided in Egypt while traveling the globe. In addition to living all around the United States, including in Chicago, Denver, and Cleveland, he also relocated to Germany. When he was nine years old, his mother left the house, and he and his father relocated to Denver to live with Baker’s aunt. The father of Baker battled both depression and unemployment. Machine Gun Kelly claims he only had two school clothes and was bullied by kids in his neighborhood. In the sixth grade, while attending Denver’s Hamilton Middle School, a school with a diverse student body, he began listening to rap.
