Hon. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah a Ghanaian politician is the immediate past Minister of Employment and Labour Relations.

He was born on the 24th of August, 1966 in Okyerekrom in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

He is on the list presented to parliament for approval on 21st January 2021, by the president of Ghana Nana Akuffo-Addo, as the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation designate.

He was born on the 24th of August, 1966 in Okyerekrom in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He is 55 years old as of the year 2021.

Hometown

He hails from Nsoatre in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana.

Early Life and Education

He attended St Patrick’s Primary School from 1973 to 1981, then Sacred Heart Secondary School until 1983.

The Hon. Minister continued with his studies at the Sunyani Secondary School and St Herbert Seminary where he received his GCE ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level certificates respectively.

In 1992, Hon. Baffour Awuah obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Business Administration (Accounting option) from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon.

He also holds a certificate in Civil Service Management from Galilee College in Israel and a Post Graduate Diploma from the International Professional Managers Association (IPMA) in the United Kingdom.

Career and Politics

He joined the New Patriotic Party and was a member of President Kufour’s government as a District Chief Executive of the Sunyani District Assembly.

He later became the deputy regional minister for the Brong-Ahafo region and subsequently became the regional minister under the same Kuffour administration.

In May 2017, President Nana Akufo-Addo named Baffour-Awuah as part of nineteen ministers who would form his cabinet.
