Egypt has been awarded with the hosting right to 2019 Afcon after initially slating Cameroon to be host.
The Confederations of African Football (CAF) stripped Cameroon off the hosting rights due to concerns on safety and security in the Central African nation.
Voting was held earlier today to determine the new hosts between Egypt and South Africa and that had the North Africans winning the bid at the end.
The 2019 Afcon will come off between June and July, and would have Kwesi Appiah’s team fighting for Ghana’s 5th Afcon and our first senior trophy since 1982.
