The European Union in Ghana has recognised the newly built LGBTIQ office in Accra.
In a Facebook post, they wrote: “A couple of weeks ago the EU in Ghana participated in the opening of the new community space of the @LGBTRightsGhana.
Equality, tolerance and respect for each other are core values of the EU. The EU supports civil society organisations promoting #LGBTIQ rights 🇪🇺🏳️🌈.
The LGBTQI+ Rights Ghana opened an administrative office in Tesano, a suburb of Accra a couple of weeks ago.
According to the group, there is a need for respect for human rights hence setting up an office for support purposes is a step in the right direction.
The group organised a fundraiser which was attended by several diplomats including the Australian High Commissioner who pledged to support the group.
