Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport Company BOST, Alfred Obeng Boateng has been sacked by President Akufo-Addo.
Mr George Mensah Okley has been tasked by the President to take over the management of the company and lead its turnaround from its current state under Mr Alfred Obeng.
The president did not state reasons for the sack in the letter but Ghanaians who are familiar with the affairs of BOST under Mr Obeng are not surprised.
Mr. Obeng’s dismissal is the second major announcement to have been made Wednesday by the Presidency following the termination of the appointment of Managing Director of Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Paul Asare Ansah.
Mr Obeng has been directed to vacate his office by close of day, Friday, June 8.

George Mensah is an Oil and Gas Industry player with over 20 years experience in the field.
He was employed at the Ghana Atomic Energy Agency as a Scientific research officer between 2005 and 2007 from where he joined the Ministry of Energy as an Engineer until 2012.
In 2013 he was made the Head of the Ministry in charge of Upstream Petroleum as a field Development Engineer.
He has a masters degree in Reservoir Evaluation and management from Heriot-Watt University as well as a Chemical Engineering Master’s Degree from Dortmund University.
He completed KNUST in 2001 having been admitted in 1997 to read Chemical Engineering.
