George was really a good personality and has set a series of records as expected in the family. He, George, however, was humble and very submissive to all authorities. He never gets irritated about and concerning anything. Always ready to learn new features and practice to do the best and good.
His father, George Stinney Sr., was a former sharecropper who worked at the town’s sawmill, and his mother, Aime, was a cook at a particular school for black children. George Stinney Jr., a reporter for The Post and Courier, had two brothers: half-brother John, age 17, and Charles, age 18.
