George Stinney Jr. Is an African American boy who was born on October 21, 1929, and died on June 16, 1944. At the age of 14, he was found guilty and put to death for the murders of two young girls in March 1944, their names are Betty June Binnicker (11 years old), and Mary Emma Thames (7 years old), The conviction was later overturned due to an unfair trial. He was found guilty, was given the death penalty, and put to death by an electric chair in June 1944. Making him the youngest American at such age, to receive a death sentence and be put to death.

In 2004, Stinney’s case was revisited, and a number of people, including the Northeastern University School of Law, requested a judicial review. A South Carolina court ruled that Stinney had not received a fair trial and had been wrongfully executed in 2014, seventy years after his execution.
