The invoice was issued by the German largest News paper, the Bild after reports suggested that, China manipulated information regarding the virus leading to such damages.

The invoice enlisted the following revenue losses caused by the pandemic. €27 billion charge for lost tourism revenue, €7.2 billion for the German film industry, a million euros per hour for German airline Lufthansa and €50 billion for German small businesses.

They further added that, if the German GDP falls by 4.2 percent, the damages involved will amount to €1,784 per person.

Reports however have it that, this billing has triggered a widespread outrage in China. The Chinese responded to The Bild by saying that, the invoice “stirs up xenophobia and nationalism”.

Germany is the latest to join the list of countries blaming China for the pandemic after the UK and the United States.
