The country Ghana has made it into the list of Heavily indebted poor countries (HIPC). The information was seen on the official website of the World Bank.
Ghana first joined the Enhanced HIPC intiative in March, 2001 and subsequently progressed to the decision point in Oct 2002 but with the help of former President J.A Kufour, we were delivered from that embarrassing tag.
But it appears successive presidents were not able to keep as away from debt.
Well, the list if made up of other countries.

The heavily indebted poor countries (HIPC) are a group of 39 developing countries with high levels of poverty and debt overhang which are eligible for special assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
Currently, the countries listen on World Bank’s website as HIPC are:
