Today would have been a black Monday hadn’t it been the intervention of the most High God who saved Ghana’s U-23 team from a plane crash.

The Head Coach, Ibrahim Tankoh in a conversation with the media, confirmed that the plane which was carrying the team to Gabon for the 2nd leg of the U-23 AFCON qualifier nearly crashed due to bad weather conditions beyond their control.

He further revealed that they were in the air for over 2 hours due before the pilot made a forced landing at Doula, Cameroon and continued after they were given clearance to do so.

We arrived in Gabon safely but very scary. We were in the sky for almost two hours but couldn’t land because of bad weather and had to go to Douala, Cameroon instead of Libreville, Gabon and wait for more than one hour, before trying again. Thank God for travelling mercy. We are now in our hotel,” Ibrahim Tankoh revealed.

Ghana’s U-23 will be battling Gabon’s U-23 team in the 2nd leg on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 and the team who emerges winner of the game automatically qualifiers to the much anticipated U-23 AFCON tournament.

We thank God for their lives……
