A young lady who appears to be in her early 20s has been arrested after she tried to smuggle tramadol to her boyfriend Kwaku Ebenezer alias King Promise who was in police custody.
The incident happened at Goaso Police station located in the Ahafo Region of Ghana.
The suspect Hannah Tawiah according to MyNewsgh.com brought kenkey to her boyfriend and concealed between the balls of kenkey are packets of Tramadol.
The police during their usual inspection of food before delivering it to King Promise who was locked behind bars, discovered the drugs.
Hannah was confronted and she tried to run away but the police were fast enough to apprehend her.
After her arrest, she made the police know that she came to the station together with friends of her boyfriend and that they only asked her to deliver the food so she has no idea that the packets of tramadol were hidden in the food.
“I came to visit King Promise with some other boys who asked me to deliver the food to King Promise. I know all of them because they come from Kyeikrom. I swear by God I did not know that they concealed the tramadol in the food”, she feigned innocence.
Police who confirmed the incident to MyNewsGh.com revealed that she would be arraigned before court for the offense after investigations.
