A horticulturist, Kingsley Nwachukwu, has been killed by gunmen in Amaegbu village in Nkwerre group, Nkwerre Native Authorities Space of Imo State
It was gathered that the gunmen had robbed a dealer at Nweke market sq. on Saturday and had been fleeing after they opened fireplace at a gaggle of younger males hanging out at a close-by pub.
Nwachukwu, who hailed from Amaegbu Umulolo village, was hit by one of many stray bullets launched by the criminals and died on the spot.
A group chief who who confirmed the incident to Punch on Sunday that the killing of Nwachukwu precipitated unease in the neighborhood.
He famous that the incident had been reported at a police station within the space whereas the stays of Nwachukwu had been evacuated from the scene of the crime.
“Nwachukwu is a member of the final Age Grade in Amaegbu village in Nkwerre group. The title of the Age Grade is Umunawuike. It is only one 12 months now the Age Grade was formally inaugurated in the neighborhood. That is one loss of life too many.” the group chief acknowledged.
