Thomas Teye Partey, a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League team Arsenal and the Black Stars of Ghana, was born on June 13, 1993.

Partey began his professional career in 2013 with the Spanish club Atlético Madrid, went on loan to Mallorca and Almera, and then returned to Atlético in 2015.

It was with Atlético that he won the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup in 2018. He made history as the most expensive Ghanaian player ever in 2020 when he transferred for £45 million (€50 million) to join Arsenal.

Partey, a Ghanaian who plays for his country, has participated in three Africa Cup of Nations (2017, 2019, and 2021).

He was selected for the CAF Team of the Year in 2018 and earned Ghana Player of the Year in both that and the following years.

He briefly played for Leganés before signing with Atlético Madrid in 2012. A year later, he was demoted to the reserves.

Partey was called up to the starting lineup on March 10th for the game against Real Sociedad. He didn’t play, though, in the eventual 0-1 home loss.
