Afro Nation is a yearly three-day music festival organized by Live Nation, Event Horizon, Smade Entertainment, and Memories of Tomorrow. In association with BBC 1 Xtra, Obi Asika and SMADE established the festival in 2013. The platform was developed to bring together the best African artists in genres like Afrobeats, Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall, Amapiano, Afro House, and others. The event was a contender for the Best Overseas Festival award at the 2019 UK Festival Awards.

On August 1, 2019, Afro Nation was introduced by Obi Asika and SMADE under the titles Afro Nation Ghana, Afro Nation Puerto Rico, and Afro Nation Mexico.

From the time it began as a four-day annual music festival in Portimo, Portugal, until July 17, 2020, when it will become a three-day annual event Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the second edition was postponed until July 1, 2022, shortly after[4]. MOVES Recordings’ compilation mixtape Afro Nation, Vol. 1, which has music from various artists, was released on December 13th, 2019. The album features performances from SMADE, Ice Prince, Slim Kofi, Lighter Tod, Joey B, Kuami Eugene, Medikal, Eddie Kadi, Bisa Kdei, Adekunle Gold, Oxlade, Reekado Banks, Eugy, Br3nya, and Terry Apala.

How many people are in Afro Nation?

We have already watched over 150 live performances in front of more than 100,000 spectators on three separate continents Africa, Europe, and America after only four performances.
