Curry is Seth Curry’s older brother and the oldest child; he is the oldest child of former NBA great Dell Curry.

He competed in college basketball for the Davidson Wildcats, where he set scoring records for the team and the Southern Conference over the course of his career, twice won conference player of the year honours and set an NCAA record for the most three-pointers made in a single season during his sophomore year.

The Warriors selected Curry with the seventh overall choice in the 2009 NBA Draft.

With 272 three-pointers made during the regular season in 2012–13, Curry established a new NBA record. With 286, and again with 402, he broke that record in 2015.

Curry passed Ray Allen to claim the NBA record for three-pointers made in a career on December 14, 2021.

Curry and Klay Thompson, who are teammates, have the moniker “the Splash Brothers” due to their shooting prowess; in 2013–14, they established the mark for the most three-pointers made in a single NBA season with 484, which they later broke (525) and again in 2015–16. (678).
