Ras Kuuku is hopeful that he’ll win the VGMA Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year again after winning it last year.

He won it last year in the absence of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

Many argued that if not for the suspension of these two, Ras Kuuku wouldn’t have laid hands on the plaque.

This year, he’s facing stiff competition from Epixode, Samini, Kaphun and Larruso who were nominated in the same category but Ras Kuuku is in high-spirits that he’ll emerge winner at the end of the day.

During an interview with Chrystal Kwame-Aryee on 3fm, Ras Kuuku emphasized that his song, “Gye Diee” track even gives him an upper hand among the others because it is a good song.

“I pray I win because this is about voting and it is about the work too. Ras Kuuku is Winning it because good music is good music … it’s also about Votes and we are voting” he said.

He also disclosed that “we are voting Hundred thousand Ghana Cedis, tell the KPMG people that they should set their machine, the votes that will be coming from Ras Kuuku might crash their machine”.

Ras Kuuku beat competition from J. Derobie, AK Songstress, Epixode, Jupitar and Samini last year to win the award.
