Former WBO Super Bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogboe, has cleared the air on speculations surrounding his use of Black Power to aid in his fights.
His comments come on the back of his dad’s statement, who happens to be his former coach, that he used to depend on ‘juju’ to help his son wins his bouts.
Paul Dogboe, father of the boxer in an interview with Joy FM confirmed the use of spiritual directions in their training and fights.
“We were bringing a stool that hasn’t come back to his throne yet. When you are repairing all these things they have to be doing certain rituals and things and we’ve done all that,” he said.
However, Isaac Dogboe, in an Instagram video has dispelled these sayings describing them as palpable falsehood.
“I want to make this very clear. I have no association with any fetish priest and I have never consulted any of them to help me win a fight. I have always credited my victories to God and God alone, so it doesn’t make sense for me to consult a fetish priest to help me win a fight.”
“God has been with me from the very beginning through all my victories and defeats because I believe and pray to God for all my victories.”
“These rumors that are going around, as ridiculous as they are they have caused a lot of embarrassment to me, my friends, and all those that I’m associated with. I have no desire to worship a deity” said Isaac Dogbe.
