I would not rest until I see Obinim put behind bars even if it will take me four years – Kennedy Agyapong swore

Politician Kennedy Agyapong has said he is poised to expose, prosecute and have Bishop Daniel Obinim put behind bars.

According to the maverick parliamentarian, he is relentless in his bid to expose and have all fake pastors in the country face the full rigours of the law.

In an interview, Kennedy Agyapong admitted to reporting Bishop Obinim to the Ghana Police Service for supposedly indulging in shady deals and other criminal acts.

He added that he was very amazed at Obinim when he said he will fight back at him. According to Kennedy Agyapong, that comment from the pastor got him irritated that eventually gave him the urge to see to his incarceration.

I have showed you one sense. You threw me a challenge. I reported and took the witnesses there. You said you will go one year with me. But I am going four years with you to see who has real God in him. That is what I want Ghanaians to know, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central said.

The Founder and Leader of International Godsway Church have been charged with offences of Publication of false news and Forgery of documents contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offences Act, 1960 (ACT 29) respectively.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Head of Public Affairs, Criminal Investigations Department, Superintendent Juliana Obeng.

The statement said Bishop Obinim is also under investigations for other offences levelled against him. Other reports point to the fact that Obinim is being refused bail by the police for reasons known to the service only.
