Ian Eagle was born on February 9, 1969, and is an American sportscaster. He calls NBA, NFL, and college basketball games on CBS, TNT, and TBS, as well as Brooklyn Nets games on YES Network and the French Open tennis on Tennis Channel.

He’s also announced football games between the Army and the Navy, boxing, and NCAA track and field for CBS.

Eagle is the son of Jack Eagle and Monica Maris, both stand-up comedians. Jack, a former Catskills comedian and commercial actor, was best known in the 1970s for his performances in Xerox and Fleischmann’s margarine commercials as Brother Dominic and “Mr Cholesterol.”

Maris had a stage presence.

Eagle graduated from Syracuse University’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a bachelor’s degree in public communications in 1990.
