Ghanaian Blackstars Coach, CK Akonnor has said that he doesn’t joke with his time.
And that any player of the National team who shows up late at training would be sacked.
“Yes, I am a disciplined person. My time, I don’t joke with it. When we agree 5 and you show up at 6 then it’s a problem and I won’t shy away from letting you know.
“People tend to view that as quick temper and arrogance,” Akonnor told TV3.
Akonnor was preparing for his first two games in charge of the side in two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers when Coronavirus stopped all sporting events in its tracks.
And not knowing when the team will play, the fate of the next Afcon is proving a source of frustration for him but he says that has not stopped him from working.
“I am still working,” he told TV3. “I’ve been keeping track of players, in constant communication with them and waiting for when we have the go ahead.”
Akonnor’s appointment has triggered significant commentary especially on his relationship with players but he says his style is straight forward.
