Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8, 1935, in Mississippi. Elvis developed an interest in music from singing in his church, Assembly of God. His Uncle and pastor taught him how to play the guitar but he was a shy kid and did not perform until high school.
In 1957, Elvis released the single Jailhouse Rock, it was a commercial success, topping charts for weeks. He soon became a sensation and crazed fans would wait in lines to see him.
In 1958, Elvis was drafted into the U.S. Army, while in the army he had ten top 40 hits.
After serving in the army, Elvis decided to focus on acting. He starred in movies like G.I. Blues, Flaming Star and Wild in the Country.
In 1969, he released his masterpiece From Elvis in Memphis, which propelled him back to the music top. Elvis would perform 57 shows in four weeks.

On August 16, 1977, was found in an unresponsive state on the bathroom floor of his Graceland mansion, he was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
He was only 42 years old. There have been claims of Elvis sightings over the years, people giving the theory that Elvis stages his death. All these are conspiracy theories with no evidence.
