Prahlad Jani, also known as Mataji or Chunriwala Mataji, was an Indian monk who claimed to have been without food and drink since 1940. He was born on August 13, 1929. He said that the deity Amba had preserved his life. However, the findings of the investigations on him have been kept secret and have been viewed with suspicion. He routinely made public and media appearances.
When Jani was 12 years old, he experienced a spiritual awakening and began to worship the Hindu god Amba. From that moment on, he began dressing like a female Amba follower, donning a red outfit like a sari, jewelry, and crimson flowers in his shoulder-length hair. Additionally, Jani was occasionally referred to as Mataji.
The well-known monk had lived as a recluse in a Gujarati jungle cave since the 1970s and held the belief that the Goddess had provided him with water that entered his body through a hole in his palate, allowing him to exist without food or beverages.
