Each week, Rachel Maddow anchored The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC, where she also collaborates with Brian Williams as a co-anchor for special events. She hosted the same-named syndicated talk radio show on Air America Radio from 2005 to 2010.

As one of the most important time slots on the network, MSNBC said this week that Alex Wagner would succeed Rachel Maddow as the host of its regular 9 p.m. hour four days a week.

As a substitute presenter on Countdown with Keith Olbermann in 2008, Maddow made her MSNBC hosting debut. Maddow referred characterized her as “nervous” while on the broadcast.
