Teni is thought to be the younger sister of Niniola, a singer from Nigeria, according to sources. She attended Apata Memorial High School and afterwards attended American Intercontinental University, according to reports at the time.

In 2016, when she was known to have published her debut single song, which she at the time termed “Amen,” she officially started her career in the music industry.

Shizzi’s Magic Fingers Records received her signing. After she made the decision to quit Shizzi’s record at the moment, she had her signed with Dr. Dolor Entertainment.

Teni began to gain much attention when she released the single “Fargin” which was around September 2017. Then it in turn was followed by single songs “Askamaya”, “Case” and “Uyo Meyo”.
