Zelenskyy, a native Russian speaker who was born into a Jewish family and raised in Kryvyi Rih, the largest city in the central Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, He graduated with a law degree from the Kyiv National Economic University before beginning his acting career. Then he decided to pursue a career in humour and founded the production company Kvartal 95, which made movies, animated series, and TV shows including Servant of the People, in which Zelenskyy portrayed the president of Ukraine.
The popular television series ran from 2015 until 2019. In March 2018, Kvartal 95 staffers founded a political party with the same name as the TV program.
